Bruce MacNair is the Founder and President of Firebird AST. He has nearly two decades of professional experience in national security and defense. During the past 13 years he has served in numerous capacities making significant contributions in the realm of critical infrastructure protection (CIP), advances and innovation related to improved federation and integration of key intelligence data, and providing direct, impactful, all source intelligence analysis and targeting development support specifically to counter-improvised explosive device (C-IED) and counterterrorism operational missions of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO), U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM), U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), and U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) clients in multiple theaters of operation (OCONUS and CONUS). Bruce MacNair is also known for his expertise and contributions to  counter-threat finance-focused intelligence and operational missions of DoD, DHS, and federal law enforcement customers.

Bruce MacNair is proud to have served in numerous influential roles where he was able to make meaningful contributions though his support to a variety of DHS, DoD, federal law enforcement, and intelligence community (IC) missions focused on countering criminal, terrorist, and other threat networks/organizations. In 2004 he was awarded the Defense Intelligence Agency’s (DIA) Civilian Expeditionary Medal, for his service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Bruce MacNair’s professional background includes significant, successful stints at recognized global consulting firms such as BAE Systems and Booz Allen Hamilton where he served as Senior Analyst, Program Manager, and other leadership roles. As a veteran he remains passionate about veterans issues and he currently helps mentor other veterans and small businesses.

Bruce MacNair is a Distinguished Military Graduate (DMG) from the United States Army Infantry School, Officer Candidate School (OCS), Fort Benning, GA. After serving as an active duty ordnance officer, Bruce MacNair (now a service-disabled veteran) transitioned to a career as a civilian contractor.

In 2011 Bruce MacNair founded Firebird Analytical Solutions & Technologies (Firebird AST), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), which delivers impactful analytical, and operational support to the special operations (SOF), DoD, IC, DHS, federal law enforcement communities.

Bruce MacNair holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz. In the community, Bruce. MacNair serves as a Charter Organization Representative and Den Leader for his children’s Cub Scout Pack and lives with his two children in Northern Virginia.
